Fresh or dry figs: what to settle for

Figs are one of the sweetest fruits to taste. They are ranked on top of summer fruits, especially in the Mediterranean regions where fig trees are abundant. The early morning picked fresh figs are mouthwatering.
The sad thing is that those soft fruits do not last long. They easily and quickly deteriorate. Yet, drying fruits comes to the rescue as the most suitable solution for those who cannot get enough of the fresh fruit.
Those who are not very familiar with the two varieties or those who do not know the importance of both ones would certainly ask such queries:
Are fresh figs better than dried figs? Can you substitute fresh figs for dried figs? Is it healthy to eat dried figs? Can you eat all of a fresh fig? What are better fresh figs or dried figs?

Fresh or dry figs: what use?
Dried figs:
Did you know that people make a drink out of dry figs? Well, I’m pretty sure that most of you have no idea about this. Actually, it is a discovery for me too.
If you run out of wine and you are desperately looking for something special to drink, then you can try dry fig juice. It is not like any other juice; it is something similar to wine just with an exotic taste.
Choose a few sweet dried fruits, wash them, and put them in a glass jar, then pour water. Seal it tightly, and leave it for a couple of weeks. The more they stay drenched, the better it tastes. This vintage drink can earn its place on your table easily.
The dry variety can be eaten as snacks at all times. They are sweet and self-sufficient. But they can be incorporated into various dishes and can make a great addition to many recipes. One of my all-time favorites is granola. This mix is a sweetheart. The combination of dried fruits, nuts, dry figs, and honey is a morning favorite. It can be a snack too if you want something healthy to defeat your hunger with minimum calories.
They can also be added to cakes, cookies, and all kinds of baked goods. You just need to think out of the box, be creative, and try new recipes. Don’t think twice, they will definitely work out great.
Fresh figs:
These might not be as versatile as their dried counterparts. Their moisture might not be suitable for any recipe. Enjoy them as desserts as much as you can because they terrific fruits. Add them to your fruit salads and even to vegetable salads if you like the exotic taste.
They cannot be used in all baked goods because they will ruin things with their water contents. However, they can be used in pies or for garnishing cakes; they will add such a beautiful look.
